ABOUT US
Dog & Hydrant, a top-rated luxury dog spa in Windsor, is growing fast! We provide high-end grooming services, self-wash stations, a separate Cattery, and an expanded Boutique in our state-of-the-art facility; the only one of its kind in Northern California. Recognized as Sonoma County's Best Dog Groomer (2020 & 2022) by the Press Democrat, we are committed to excellence in pet care. We are currently seeking a full-time Pet Bather / Dog Washer to join our professional, pet-loving team. This is a physically active role that requires hustle, attention to detail, and a strong love for animals. Full-Time Compensation:
$19 to $21 per hour (based on experience) + Tip Share (after training) Tip share brings most bathing team members to an average of $20 to $22 per hour after training
Schedule Options:
Tuesday to
Friday:
8:30am to 5:00pm &
Saturday:
9:00am to 5:30pm -OR- Tuesday to
Saturday:
9:30am to 6:00pm
Important Notes:
Saturdays are required for all employees Overtime hours are regularly available Minor schedule adjustments may be possible for the right candidate Some Saturdays may run slightly earlier or later Monthly staff meetings are held the second Saturday of each month at 8:30am

Team members who show motivation and dedication will have opportunities to grow with the company, including the chance to learn the trade of dog grooming, which is a skilled and high-paying profession with strong long-term potential. Many of our current groomers began in this very role. One former Bather advanced to Groomer II in our Salon, while another was promoted to Bathing Room Supervisor and later became a Groomer's Apprentice III. A third Bather moved through positions in every department after demonstrating strong skill, drive, and reliability, and is now one of our most in-demand groomers. Currently, we also have a Groomer's Apprentice who joined as a Bather in 2023 and is now at the end of her training, preparing to step into the Junior Groomer role. Experienced dog groomers at D&H can earn $75,000 to $100,000 annually, making this an excellent career path for individuals looking to grow both their skills and income in the pet care industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Bathe, dry, and brush a variety of dog breeds Perform basic cleaning of ears and sanitary areas Use proper animal handling techniques and safety protocols Maintain cleanliness of bathing and grooming areas throughout the day Assist groomers and coworkers as needed Communicate observations clearly to groomers, including skin concerns, temperament issues, or unusual behaviors Work quickly and efficiently to maintain the salon schedule
REQUIREMENTS
Prior dog bathing experience preferred Animal handling experience required (including volunteer or paid work at shelters, rescues, kennels, daycares, or veterinary clinics) Ability to work hard, hustle, and stay focused in a fast-paced setting Professional, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills Comfortable getting wet, hairy, and dirty; this is a very active role Punctual, dependable, and respectful of your shift responsibilities Must be able to safely lift up to 40lbs Must be 18 years or older and out of high school Legal authorization to work in the U.S. Reliable transportation Fluent in English Passion for animals and a drive to grow in the field
