ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring a part-time doggie daycare attendant to provide enrichment, supervision, and attentive care for our household dogs during the day. This is not a passive monitoring role. You are an active caregiver responsible for the physical safety, emotional wellbeing, and daily engagement of 4-5 dogs. Core Responsibilities Supervision and Behavior Management. Monitor group play sessions and manage dog interactions to prevent conflicts, stress, or injury. You read body language, anticipate problems, and step in before situations escalate. You know each dog's personality, triggers, play style, and limitations. Health and Wellness. Provide fresh water throughout the day. Observe each dog for changes in behavior, energy, appetite, or physical condition. Any concern, no matter how small, is flagged immediately to leadership. Enrichment and Engagement. Create and facilitate activities that keep dogs mentally and physically engaged. Rotate toys, rotate play partners, vary environments, and keep the experience dynamic. Cleanliness and Safety. Pick up waste immediately. Keep the play area clean, organized, and safe. Equipment and supplies are maintained and returned to their proper location after each session. Communication and Reporting. Keep leadership informed of any significant moments in the dogs' day, including behavioral changes, play dynamics, health observations, or anything that affects their wellbeing or safety.

NEED TO HAVE

Age and Education. At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED. Physical Capability. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, bend and squat repeatedly, and move quickly when needed. Dog Literacy. Strong knowledge of dog body language, basic animal care, and canine behavior. Ability to recognize and respond to stress, conflict, and signs of distress. Canine Emergency Awareness. Recognition of serious health emergencies (gastric dilatation-volvulus, choking, injury, heat stress) and immediate reporting protocol. Communication and Judgment. Clear, calm communication. Sound judgment in reading situations and knowing when to escalate. Ability to take direction without defensiveness. Values Alignment. Non-smoker, drug-free, respectful of household boundaries, and genuinely committed to the wellbeing of the dogs in your care.

NICE TO HAVE

Pet Care Experience. Previous work at a daycare, kennel, shelter, vet clinic, or grooming facility. Ranch or Farm Background. Comfort working outdoors in a ranch environment and experience with livestock. Training Knowledge. Familiarity with positive reinforcement and dog training principles. Reliability. Own transportation and a consistent, dependable schedule.

SCHEDULE + COMPENSATION

Hours. 12-15 hours per week, typically 9am-12pm, 4-5 days per week (flexible within these parameters). Location. On-site in Castle Rock, Colorado. Start Date. Flexible, seasonal availability welcome. Compensation. $22-$26 per hour based on experience and demonstrated capability.
