Groom/Exercise Rider

Key Responsibilities:

Feeding of stalled horses in barn (hay, grain, supplements) Turnout/bringing in of stalled horses Mucking/re-bedding stalls and runs Night checking stalled horses Drag and water indoor arena Grooming/bathing of dressage and herd horses to maintain healthy coats/hooves Maintain clean and safe equipment and tack Maintain an exceptionally clean/organized barn and other public equine spaces Administer therapies including Red Light Laser and Bemer to dressage horses regularly Develop and execute riding schedules for each dressage horse based on fitness and training needs Arena riding/training of dressage horses, as well as exercising and conditioning of herd horses out on trails Haul dressage horses to clinics and shows for owner Groom at day clinics, as well as at multi-day horse shows Keep a clean and tidy trailer and horse hauling truck Assist hospitality team with guest horse experiences (typically biweekly) - Including leading trail rides on herd horses, horsemanship classes, photoshoots, lessons, etc. Help prepare herd horses adequately for guests of all skill levels (by riding, training, grooming, etc) Operate machinery, including side-by-sides, ATVs, tractors, water trucks, skid steer, trucks/trailers Facilitate all owner requests On-call for horse emergencies

Requirements:

Previous experience riding dressage. Ideally a strong rider in both English and Western. Bonus for experience working at a guest ranch. Grooming/show experience. Safely haul performance horses across countries. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to providing quality care to all the horses. Strong organizational and communication skills. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Ability to relocate to Clark, CO 80428 before starting work (onsite housing available).
