Position Overview As a Kennel Technician , you'll play a hands-on role in daily dog care, cleanliness, and supervision. This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working around dogs of all sizes and temperaments. This is not a desk job — you'll be moving, cleaning, lifting, observing behavior, and interacting with dogs indoors and outdoors throughout your shift. Key Responsibilities Dog Care & Safety Feed and water boarded dogs Monitor dog behavior and follow play-group guidelines Safely supervise dogs during playtime Use leashes and basic control techniques as needed Follow all behavior notes and safety cards (medication, behavior, play status) Remove dogs from play if behavior becomes unsafe Complete incident reports for any injuries or fights Kennel & Facility Care Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and common spaces Sweep and mop lobby and kennel play areas Pick up and properly dispose of waste (indoors and outdoors) Change bedding and food/water bowls Do laundry as needed Maintain clean, organized workspaces throughout the shift Medication & Documentation Administer medications only as instructed Carefully match medication, dosage, and dog records Log all medications given accurately Opening / Closing Duties Ensure all dogs have food, water, and clean bedding Secure doors and lights according to procedures Lock doors properly using keypad system Qualifications & Expectations Must be reliable and punctual Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and energy levels Able to stay calm and focused in busy environments Willing to follow detailed procedures and safety rules Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stay on your feet for extended periods Prior kennel, daycare, vet clinic, or animal experience is a plus (but not required) Must be comfortable enforcing rules and using your voice when needed Why Work at Casa de Pets?
