Job Description
Hello, pet-loving job seekers! Do you live in or near Glastonbury? Do you love dogs, cats, being outdoors, and staying active? Why not get paid to spend time with amazing pets while getting your steps in every day? Hi! My name is David Steinberg, and I'm the owner of David's Pet Services (DPS). We provide professional dog walking and pet sitting throughout Glastonbury, West Hartford, Farmington, and surrounding areas. We're looking for 1-3 dependable, compassionate people who live in or very close to Glastonbury to join our growing team.
What We're Looking For:
We're hiring employees who have flexible schedules and are interested in one or both of the following: Dog Walking- Weekday daytime visits while clients are at work
- Most visits occur Monday-Friday between approximately 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Pet Sitting
- Care for pets while clients are on vacation
- Typically 3-4 visits per day for dogs or 1-2 visits per day for cats
- Includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- You can often share pet sitting schedules with other members of our team Visit Lengths We offer 20, 30, and 45-minute visits depending on each client's needs.
What You'll Do:
Every day is a little different. Depending on the client, you may:- Walk dogs
- Feed pets
- Play with and exercise them
- Administer medications (we'll train you)
- Scoop litter boxes
- Refresh water
- Give pets lots of love and attention while their families are away
Requirements:
Live in or very close to Glastonbury- Have your own reliable vehicle
- Love both dogs and cats
- Be dependable, trustworthy, and professional
- Enjoy working independently
Training:
No professional experience? That's okay.We provide:
- Paid in-house training
- Hands-on field training
- Pet CPR and First Aid certification
- Ongoing support from an experienced team Pay & Benefits
- Earn approximately $19
- 23+ per hour between visit pay and tips
- Mileage reimbursement (paid in addition to your wages)
- W-2 employee position

Hours & Growth:
Hours vary depending on client demand and the season. Some days you may have 2-3 visits, while other days you may have 4 or more. As our client base continues to grow, there are opportunities to build a larger schedule for the right person.
