Job Description

• Must be 21 years of age or older • The Kennel Tech will be responsible for the general care and maintenance of kennel units located within the Shelter. You make sure all the dogs within care are happy and healthy, providing them with food, water, love and attention throughout their stay. You have the physical ability, stamina and mobility to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl, in some cases for an extended period of time. You must have Energy and the ability to get the job done without sacrificing the health and safety of the animals. Strength to lift and/or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be 21 years of age or older.

This is not JUST a job. Your love of animals is foremost and it shows in your attitude and behavior. The person we hire will help to keep the shelter in a high standard of clean and orderly. He or she will be friendly, out-going, motivated, and take initiative. Someone who can get our dogs adopted with the right family is who we want. Someone with a positive attitude and a nice smile! Someone who knows how to tell stories and show compassion! You will need to be able to work as a team member, have common sense, and get dirty on many occasions. Past job experience is A BONUS for ALL applicants. Should be knowledgeable of dog behaviors and illnesses. Must have a flexible schedule and able to work weekends.
