Lead Kennel Attendant The Wagging Club is a family owned and operated luxury pet boarding, daycare, and grooming facility in the heart of the Carrollwood neighborhood in Tampa, FL. Founded by a family of dog lovers, The Wagging Club started as a dream to create a haven for pups and cats of all shapes and sizes. With years of experience in pet care and a genuine love for animals, we set out to build a place where dogs and cats can play, relax, and feel right at home. We are looking for people that have the same passion for animals, and who want to work hard alongside us as we grow and provide the best care for our client's pets.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Kennel Attendant to oversee our daycare and boarding operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, strong leadership skills, and the ability to ensure the highest standards of care for our canine guests.
Pay:
$15-$17 Full-time or part-time position
Shifts:
M-F 6:30-1:15pm and 1pm-7:30pm, Saturdays and Sundays 8:30-1:00 and 12:45-5:30

Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage a team of daycare/kennel attendants, providing training, guidance, and support. Oversee daily operations of the daycare and boarding, including feeding, watering, exercise, and cleaning animals. Maintain a clean, safe environment for all animals. Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care, monitoring their health and behavior. Implement and enforce safety protocols and guidelines to prevent injuries and ensure a safe environment. Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates and addressing any concerns or special requests. Maintain accurate records of each dog's activities, health, and any incidents. Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including updating records or special instructions. Coordinate with management on scheduling, staffing, and inventory needs. Handle and administer medications as required. Perform routine inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness and organization. Address any issues or emergencies promptly and effectively. Foster a positive and team-oriented work environment.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in animal care or a related field is a plus. Previous experience in a daycare or boarding facility, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and breeds confidently. Strong observational skills and the ability to recognize and respond to changes in dog behavior. Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. Comfortableness with handling dog and cat waste, dog hair, and generally getting a little dirty. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
