Job Description
Kennel Technician 1 — Part-Time Canine CellMates | Atlanta, GA About Canine CellMates Canine CellMates is an Atlanta nonprofit with a unique mission: Utilizing Shelter Dogs to Break the Cycle of Incarceration. Through our Beyond The Bars program, we bring together shelter dogs in need of homes and justice-involved men working to build better futures. Our dogs live and train at our West Midtown facility while preparing for adoption. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Kennel Technician 1 to help us keep their environment clean, safe, and comfortable. About the Position Let's be upfront: this is primarily a cleaning position. Our Kennel Tech 1 team members are responsible for keeping kennels and dog areas clean and sanitary. There will be some interaction with some very cute dogs along the way, but this is not a dog-handling or dog-training position. If you are looking for a job where you spend your entire shift playing with puppies, this probably isn't it. If you don't mind rolling up your sleeves, working hard, getting dirty, and knowing that what you're doing directly contributes to the health and well-being of our dogs, we'd love to hear from you. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize kennels, crates, floors, and common dog areas Remove waste and replace bedding Wash dog bowls and other kennel equipment Sweep, mop, disinfect, and maintain cleaning standards throughout the facility Wash, dry, fold, and put away dog laundry Restock kennel and cleaning supplies Empty trash and maintain clean work areas Follow established sanitation and safety procedures Alert staff to anything unusual noticed while working around the dogs Help with other basic facility-cleaning tasks as needed What We're Looking For You do not need professional dog-care experience for this position.
