Commission-based with the opportunity to earn up to $80,000 per year based on caseload Position Summary Peach on a Leash is seeking a science-based, reward-based Professional Dog Trainer to join our private training team in the Atlanta area. This role primarily involves conducting private training sessions in clients' homes, with potential opportunities to support other services within the company as needed. This is a commission-based position with strong earning potential based on caseload. Peach on a Leash handles marketing, client acquisition, scheduling support, and administrative systems so trainers can focus on providing excellent training and client care. The ideal candidate genuinely enjoys working with both dogs and people, is confident coaching clients through real-life training challenges, and has demonstrated a commitment to continued education and professional growth. This position is a strong fit for someone who is self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently, while also enjoying being part of a supportive team of experienced trainers. Responsibilities Private trainers are responsible for working one-on-one with clients and their dogs to address a variety of training goals, including puppy foundations, manners, leash skills, confidence building, household management, reactivity, and behavior modification.
Responsibilities include:
Conducting private training sessions in clients' homes and other real-life environments Creating realistic, individualized training plans based on each dog and family's needs Coaching clients clearly and kindly so they can continue training successfully between sessions Communicating professionally with clients before, during, and after training sessions Maintaining accurate session notes and training recommendations Collaborating with the Peach on a Leash team as needed Representing the company professionally and compassionately at all times Continuing to grow through education, mentorship, and feedback Requirements Prior professional dog training experience working directly with clients in a private and/or group setting is required Must have a reliable vehicle and be comfortable traveling between clients Drive time between clients is typically limited to no more than 30 minutes Must be comfortable working with dogs of different sizes, breeds, temperaments, and behavior needs Strong understanding of dog body language, learning theory, and humane training practices Excellent communication and client-coaching skills Reliability, professionalism, and strong time management skills CPDT-KA, CDBC, or similar certification is preferred Candidates who are not currently certified should be willing to sit for an appropriate certification exam during the next offered testing period Training Philosophy Peach on a Leash is a positive reinforcement-based, LIMA-aligned training company. We do not use e-collars, prong collars, choke chains, leash corrections, intimidation, or similar tools in any of our programs. Applicants should either already have experience with reward-based training methods or be fully committed to learning and practicing within that framework. $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
