Welcome to Playtime Pup Ranch, a premier dog daycare, boarding, training, and grooming facility. We're passionate about providing a safe and enjoyable environment for dogs while creating a family-like atmosphere for our team. Our mission is to nurture a community where every dog feels at home, and every team member is valued and supported. Please note owning dogs your entire life is not equivalent to working with a pack of 20 dogs. Our business is unique because we are a kennel-free, open, cage-free boarding facility. Our dog handler/front desk shift leader position is referred to internally as a Canine Coach /FRONT DESK LEAD and the experience we are looking for is a Mature person who is comfortable handling a pack of 20 dog and is able to greet guests coming in, make reservations, and run the front end operation. Please note owning dogs your entire life is not equivalent to working with a pack of 20 dogs.
Job Duties:
Lead playtime activities for large groups of dogs, ensuring fun and safety. We maintain an industry-leading ratio of 1 staff member to 15-20 dogs at most times. Monitor dog interactions and maintain a secure play environment. Implement cleaning routines during the day and conduct thorough cleaning each evening. Engage dogs safely, promoting positive behavior and socialization. Support facility-wide cleanliness and sanitation efforts. Staff need to have a strong sense of awareness, and after training, the ability to read body language. Preferred experience with a pack of 20 dogs Passionate about dogs and eager to foster a positive atmosphere. Energetic team player who thrives in a dynamic environment. Eager to learn about dog behavior and playroom management. Values safety, cleanliness, and teamwork. We strongly prefer a candidate with prior professional or volunteer dog care experience. Can Greet people with a mature sense of urgency and have excellent customer service skillsRequirements:
We are currently hiring for two schedules (daytime shifts (6:30am-1pm mornings or 12:45pm to 7pm afternoons) and overnight shifts (6pm-8am). We prefer candidates who are consistently available. If you have flexibility with your availability and can also work weekends, that is a bonus. Patience and empathy for the animals in our care. Every candidate must have a passion for dogs!Benefits and Compensation:
Part/Full-time position with hourly pay ranging from $16.00 to $16.50 to start with a review in 90 day, based on experience. Paid training with an expert from Duke's Dog Academy. We have a hands-on training program. Bring your dog to work during shifts after passing our assessment. Up to 40 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) annually. Access to a matching IRA retirement account.
