About Us Join DePAW Pet Resort, a highly reviewed, locally owned pet care leader backed by more than 60 years of combined staff experience. Our premier facility features 16,000 square feet of indoor space and 8,000 square feet of outdoor play areas. We are recognized as one of Kane County's top pet care facilities and are committed to providing exceptional daycare, lodging, grooming, training, and enrichment services. Position Overview We are seeking experienced Dog Trainers who are passionate about helping dogs and their owners succeed. This role combines hands-on dog training, behavior management, client education, staff mentoring, and training program development in a fast-paced pet care environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct private lessons, group classes, daycare evaluations, lodge & train programs, puppy training, and behavior consultations. Develop and document individualized training plans and progress reports. Educate pet parents and recommend training programs that best fit their needs. Assist with training sales, client communication, and promotion of training services. Train and mentor staff on dog behavior, handling, and facility procedures. Address behavior concerns within daycare, lodging, and training programs. Create photos, videos, and report cards showcasing training progress. Collaborate with management to improve training programs, events, and educational offerings. Assist with facility operations, scheduling, cleaning, and client check-in/check-out as needed. Participate in company events, community demonstrations, and staff meetings. Qualifications Minimum of one year of professional dog training experience required. Dog training certification, formal education, or equivalent experience preferred. Strong knowledge of canine behavior and positive training techniques. Experience in dog daycare, pet boarding, pet sitting, or related animal care services. Excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and sales skills. Ability to create training-related content and maintain accurate records. Proficiency with Google Docs; willingness to learn Gingr software. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
