Monday-Friday About Canine Kingdom Canine Kingdom is a professional dog training, daycare, boarding, grooming, grooming school and trainer school focused on helping dogs and their owners build better communication, obedience, confidence, and long-term behavior. We are growing our training team and are looking for an experienced, motivated dog trainer who takes pride in providing high-quality training and exceptional care. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced dog trainer to join our team full-time, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience training a wide variety of dogs and is comfortable working independently with dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, temperaments, and training backgrounds. This is an active, hands-on position. The trainer will be responsible for conducting training sessions, working with dogs throughout the day, communicating with clients, maintaining accurate training notes, and helping uphold the standards and reputation of Canine Kingdom. Responsibilities Conduct private and/or group dog training sessions Train dogs in obedience, manners, leash skills, impulse control, and behavior modification Work with dogs of varying breeds, ages, sizes, and temperaments Evaluate individual dogs and develop appropriate training plans Communicate clearly and professionally with dog owners Demonstrate training techniques to clients and teach owners how to maintain results at home Safely handle and manage multiple dogs throughout the workday Monitor dog behavior, stress levels, and overall wellbeing Maintain clean, organized, and safe training areas Keep detailed records and progress notes for training clients Follow Canine Kingdom's training philosophy, safety procedures, and facility standards Work as part of a professional training team while also being capable of working independently Maintain a calm, patient, confident, and professional demeanor around dogs and clients Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of professional dog-training experience preferred Experience working with dogs professionally in a training facility, boarding/training program, daycare, kennel, or similar environment Strong understanding of canine behavior and learning theory Comfortable handling difficult, energetic, fearful, reactive, or high-drive dogs Strong leash-handling and dog-management skills Ability to assess a dog's temperament and adjust training methods accordingly Excellent communication and customer-service skills Reliable, punctual, and professional Physically capable of working with dogs throughout the day Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions when necessary Must be willing to follow company training protocols and safety procedures Experience With Working Dogs / Protection Training Experience with working dogs, sport dogs, protection dogs, or advanced obedience is a strong plus. Candidates with experience in areas such as advanced obedience, working-dog training, sport training, scent work, or protection-dog training are encouraged to apply. Protection/working-dog experience is not required for the position, but may provide opportunities for additional responsibilities as Canine Kingdom expands its working-dog programs.
