Then you'll love this job! A Closer Bond is Palatine's most trusted pet care business! We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable and compassionate Dog Trainer to join our team! We're an award-winning, family-owned business and have been providing superior pet care since 1994. We provide high-quality services including full-service Pet Lodging, Enrichment Daycare, Professional Dog Training, and Grooming services.
Responsibilities:
Conducting private and group dog-training sessions Teaching basic obedience, manners, leash skills, and reliable behaviors Helping address common behavior challenges Creating individualized training plans based on each dog and family Coaching owners on effective, balanced training techniques Maintaining a safe, positive, and welcoming training environment Building strong relationships with clients and providing excellent customer service Continuing to learn and grow your training knowledge and skillsRequirements:
Previous experience as a dog training professional Knowledge of dog handling techniques and ability to read body language Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as some pets may require assistance Ability to communicate and teach effectively and professionally Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays High level of responsibility and reliability in ensuring the safety and well-being of pets under your care You'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of dogs and their families while working alongside a team that cares deeply about quality training and compassionate handling.
