Team Lead- Morning/Evening MaryMac's Doggie Retreat, LLC - 2.5 New Orleans, LA Job Details Part-time $11 - $15 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Leadership training provided Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Behavior management Dog handling Customer relationship management Ability to follow instructions Full Job Description Kennel Tech - MaryMac's Doggie Retreat is hiring a dependable, self-directed Kennel Tech to support daily daycare and grooming operations, care for the dogs, clean facility, and customer support. This role is ideal for someone who naturally takes ownership, works well independently, and leads by example. Although the days are optional, the hours are not. We are offering either the morning position is from 6:30am - 12:30pm or afternoon position 1pm - 6pm. Key Responsibilities As a Kennel Technician, your responsibilities will include: Supervising dogs during daycare and group play Monitoring dog behavior, body language, and interactions Following proper procedures for introducing dogs into playgroups Safely moving and handling dogs throughout the facility Using kennel leads and proper dog-handling techniques Maintaining control of playgroups and preventing unsafe behavior Cleaning and sanitizing kennels, play areas, floors, bowls, equipment, and common areas Picking up after dogs and maintaining a clean environment throughout your shift Providing fresh water and assisting with feeding when necessary Following individual care instructions for dogs Communicating changes in behavior, health, or temperament to management Assisting with opening, closing, and daily facility duties Following MaryMac's safety procedures and operating standards Working as a team to make sure every dog receives attentive, compassionate care Customer Relations & Light Admin Greet and assist clients Handle check-in and check-out procedures Answer basic phone and front desk inquiries Document daily notes and incidents Support appointment scheduling Standards & Accountability Uphold MaryMac's care and safety standards Serve as on-site leadership support when the owner is off-site Qualifications Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities Dependable and punctual Patient, observant, and attentive Able to follow detailed instructions Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Willing to clean — cleaning is a major part of this position Able to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable being on their feet for extended periods Able to safely bend, lift, squat, walk, and handle dogs throughout a shift Interested in learning more about dog behavior and proper handling techniques What We Offer Leadership training Long-term growth potential Stable, respectful work environment Purpose-driven work with dogs every day Flexible days
