In this position, you will have active daily involvement in managing solo dogs and small groups, coaching dog handlers and kennel attendants, and overseeing daily shift safety and operations. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily daycare and kennel operations Lead and motivate Dog Handlers and Attendants to deliver outstanding pet care, including feeding, cleaning, and activity management Coach staff to learn new skills, fix issues early and encourages career progress Schedule and assign tasks to staff Train and schedule new hires Fill staffing gaps as needed Check in/out daycare and boarding clients Monitor dog behavior and group safety. Handle dogs of different breeds and sizes Leash walk dogs into and out to the lobby, kennels, play and training areas Supervise, interact with and exercise dogs in solo and group play Develop the play rotation schedules and kennel layouts based on dog temperaments Maintain strict facility cleanliness and sanitation standards. Prepare feeding instructions and administer medications Handle communications including behavioral concerns to dog owners as required. Promptly address and document incidents, accidents, or medical issues Experience Minimum 1-2 years of dog handling experience in a professional daycare and/or kennel Minimum 2 years proven supervisory or leadership experience in a professional daycare and/or kennel References are required. Requirements A love for dogs. The ability to handle different breeds and sizes of dogs. Strong knowledge of dog body language and group management. Excellent problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills. Exceptional communication and customer service skills. Quick and calm resolution in difficult situations. Stand and walk for extended periods, lift 50 lbs. bend, stoop, kneel and crouch and push/pull equipment Work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation solutions, animal dander and secretions. Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and some holidays. We rotate weekends and holidays as much as possible. Early shift starts at 6am. Late shift ends at 8pm. A valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation and live locally High school diploma or equivalent
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
