About us A1K9 Academy is small family run dog daycare, boarding and training facility in Westbrook, Maine.

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Dog Daycare attendant & Dog Boarding attendant to join our team. As a Dog Daycare attendant & Boarding attendant you will be responsible for helping the team manage our packs indoors & outdoors, thoroughly clean our facility and bring dogs to their owners at the end of the day as well as providing top-notch care and attention to our amazing dogs while their owners are away through our boarding program. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the health, safety, and happiness of our canine companions.Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and comfortable environment for our dogs.
- Administer medication and monitor the health of our guests when needed.
- Assist with feeding, walking, and providing fresh water.
- Groom our dogs, including nail trimming, brushing, and bathing
- as needed
- Potty breaks.
- Handle and restrain dogs safely and humanely.
- Clean and maintain our kennels to ensure a clean and hygienic environment.
- Provide exercise and playtime for our dogs every night.
- Monitor and report any changes in a dog's health or behavior.
- Follow veterinary instructions and maintain a clean and organized kennel.
- Assist with dog boarding and training programs.
Requirements:
- Experience working with dogs, preferably in a boarding or kennel setting!
- Strong understanding of animal care and restraint techniques such as defensive leash handling.
- Familiarity with pet grooming and veterinary procedures
- Ability to lift heavy objects and handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments. On average 50+ pounds a day as well as be on your feet for 6-8hrs a day routinely!
- Experience with dog training/ dog pack behavior/ dog behaviors.
- Physical stamina to keep up with the needs of multiple dogs.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent required

$18.00- $23.
