Canine Handler About The Doghouse The Doghouse is a dog daycare and boarding facility located on 200 wooded acres in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. We provide dogs with safe outdoor exercise, socialization, enrichment, and loving care. Our two highest priorities are dog safety and maintaining a clean, healthy environment. We are looking for calm, dependable team members who genuinely love working with dogs. What You'll Do Safely supervise dog playgroups and monitor dog behavior. Feed, exercise, transport, and care for dogs. Administer medications and follow feeding instructions. Keep indoor and outdoor areas clean, disinfected, and safe. Pick up waste, complete laundry, and prepare dog suites. Document health or behavior concerns. Communicate with coworkers and clients professionally. Assist with check-in, check-out, and occasional transportation of dogs. Training All new employees begin with one week of cleaning and sanitation training before becoming a dog handler. Cleanliness is essential to keeping our dogs healthy, and every team member is expected to understand our cleaning procedures before working with playgroups. Schedule Shifts begin at 6:00 AM and generally end between 4:00-6:00 PM. Part-time and full-time positions available. Occasional weekends and holidays required. Holidays are paid at double time.
