Whether working with dogs, cats, or even exotic companions, you'll be a vital part of creating positive experiences for pets and their owners alike. Duties Provide daily pet care including feeding, grooming, administering medications, and ensuring proper hygiene. Engage pets in stimulating activities such as dog training exercises, pet walking, and outdoor play to promote physical health and mental well-being. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills to prevent injury and reduce stress. Offer overnight in-home care or pet sitting services to ensure pets feel comfortable and secure in their familiar environment. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pet's behavior, health status, and special needs to foster trust and transparency. Maintain detailed records of pet care activities, behavioral observations, and any incidents or concerns that arise during shifts. Skills Proven experience in dog training, dog handling, or animal behavior management. Veterinary experience including veterinary technician or assistant background is highly valued. Strong animal handling skills across various species including cats and pocket pets. Knowledge of pet exercise routines. Ability to perform outdoor work comfortably in various weather conditions while managing multiple animals. Excellent client communication skills to provide updates and answer questions professionally. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and active movement throughout the day.
