Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and passionate Dog Trainer to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will lead the training programs designed to enhance pet behavior, strengthen owner-pet relationships, and promote positive training techniques. Your expertise will inspire both our team members and pet owners, ensuring every dog receives personalized, effective training that fosters good behavior and happy, healthy relationships. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive obedience and behavioral modification training programs for dogs of all breeds and temperaments. Lead training sessions using positive reinforcement strategies, ensuring humane and effective pet handling. Supervise and mentor a team of trainers, providing guidance on training techniques, animal handling, and client communication. Conduct assessments to determine each dog's individual needs and create tailored training plans. Educate pet owners on pet care, behavior support strategies, grooming, and proper handling techniques to reinforce training at home. Manage animal restraint procedures safely during training sessions while prioritizing animal welfare. Maintain detailed records of training progress, behavioral issues, and client interactions to ensure continuous improvement. Qualifications Proven experience with dog training, including obedience training for pets and pet behavioral modification. Strong background in animal handling, pet care, and animal behavioral training across various species including dogs and equines. Prior veterinary technician or assistant experience is highly desirable for understanding animal health considerations. Familiarity with classroom positive reinforcement methods and positive behavior support strategies. Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for animal restraint or equipment setup. Valid kennel experience or pet sitting background is a plus to ensure well-rounded animal care knowledge. $15.00 - $30.00 per hour
