Dog Trainer / Handler —
Two Weimaraners Location:
Princeton, NJ area
Type:
Part-time, daily commitment required About the Role We are seeking an experienced dog trainer to maintain and continue the advanced training of our two
Weimaraners:
a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old. Both dogs completed formal training at Greenleaf Resort, where they were trained as service dogs and certified for off-leash obedience. They are highly obedient and responsive — the job is not to train from scratch, but to reinforce and preserve this training through consistent daily work. Responsibilities Daily training maintenance Conduct daily reinforcement sessions covering service-dog tasks and off-leash obedience Maintain established commands, protocols, and behavioral standards set by Greenleaf Resort Track and report on each dog's performance; flag any regression early Exercise Walk both dogs twice per day, minimum 1-2 hours per walk Incorporate off-leash work into walks where appropriate and safe Grooming Groom both dogs once every 2-4 weeks (bathing, nails, ears, coat care) Requirements Proven experience training and handling large sporting breeds; Weimaraner experience strongly preferred Familiarity with service-dog training standards and off-leash obedience protocols Availability 7 days per week (or ability to coordinate reliable coverage) Physically capable of handling two large, high-energy dogs on extended walks References from prior training or handling positions required [
