Job Description

Tanner's Canine Resort is now hiring! We offer all-day daycare, luxury boarding, state-of-the-art training, and an incredible doggy spa experience. Opening in 2020, the facility was designed for dog safety, comfort, and enrichment with small play groups, attentive staff, clean suites, and expansive outdoor play areas. We are independently owned — not a franchise — offering individual, custom care in a facility with a 6,000+ sq ft K9 Grass play yard (no ticks, fleas, digging, mud, or puddles), staff on-site 24/7, and all team members trained through Dog Handler Academy. A veterinary center is next door, and the kennel features powerful air filtration, a wet/dry central vac, Kohler backup generator, ample shade and fresh water, sprinklers and misters for summer, temperature-controlled indoor play for extreme weather, Kuranda beds and cuddle mats for boarders, nighttime healthy treats, free exit baths for stays of five+ nights, and plenty of hugs, cuddles, belly rubs, and love.
Job Details Position:
Dog Daycare Handler / Kennel Cleaning Attendant (permanent part-time)
Hours:
20-25 hours/week
Shifts:
6:45am-12:30pm & 1:30pm-7:00pm; Saturday 8:00-4:00 & Sunday 8:00-4:00
Required:
Saturdays & Sundays, some weekdays, holidays as needed
Location:
Waldwick, NJ Core Responsibilities Ensure safety of dogs and staff (top priority) Supervise indoor & outdoor playgroups; play/interact/correct as needed Clean dog suites, multiple outdoor play yards, and remove waste promptly Bathe and brush dogs of all sizes; laundry and trash removal Identify and report unwell or injured dogs Maintain a neat, sanitary facility in all weather conditions Ideal Candidate / Requirements All staff must have a passion for dogs; comfortable handling small and large breeds Prior dog-care experience strongly preferred (daycare, grooming, boarding, training)
Skills:
animal behavior knowledge, dog handling, bathing/grooming, pet boarding/sitting Physical demands: stand/walk for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, tolerate high noise Comfortable picking up dog waste and mixing/using cleaning chemicals Team player, punctual, neat appearance, reliable Must be at least 18 years old and legally able to work in the U.S. Ability to start immediately; available for 1-3 shifts/week (varies by business) What We Offer (Compensation & Benefits)
Pay:
$16-$17/hr (starting) $1,300-$1,800/month depending on hours/experience
Overtime:
