Job Description

Job Overview Zoomin Groomin is looking for an experienced Dog Bather / Groomer Trainee who wants to take the next step and learn how to become a professional dog groomer. This is a paid training position designed for someone who already has some experience working with dogs and wants to turn that experience into a real career. You do not need to know how to perform full haircuts yet. That is what we are going to teach you. During training, pay is $16.00 per hour . Our goal is to train the right person over approximately 3-4 months and transition them into a full-time grooming position once they are ready and signed off. Once fully trained, productive groomers with our company can earn approximately $300-$500 per day, plus tips . This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to dive headfirst into grooming, learn a skilled trade, and build a long-term career working with pets. Training is hands-on, the days can be long, and grooming is physical work. We are looking for someone who understands that and is willing to put in the time and effort needed to learn the profession. Responsibilities Bathe, dry, brush, and prepare dogs for grooming services. Safely handle dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Assist with nail trimming, ear cleaning, brushing, and coat preparation. Learn professional grooming techniques including tidy trims, faces, feet, sanitary trims, clipper work, scissor work, and full haircuts. Learn breed types, coat types, grooming terminology, and proper grooming techniques. Work directly alongside experienced groomers during the training process. Complete required groom reports and other daily documentation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming van and equipment. Clean, sanitize, and reset the grooming area at the end of the day. Restock supplies, towels, water, products, and equipment as needed. Follow company safety procedures and grooming standards. Take direction and feedback from trainers and apply it to future grooms. Continue improving speed, quality, handling, and overall grooming ability throughout the training program. Qualifications Prior dog bathing, grooming assistant, kennel, daycare, veterinary, or professional dog-handling experience is strongly preferred. Comfortable handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments. Comfortable working around nervous or difficult dogs. Willing to learn professional grooming from the ground up. Reliable and punctual. Able to take direction and constructive feedback. Strong attention to detail. Comfortable standing for long periods of time. Able to lift and assist with dogs when needed. Comfortable working long and physically demanding days. Willing to clean and complete all required end-of-day responsibilities. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Looking for a career in grooming, not just a temporary job.
Training & Compensation Training Pay:
$16.00 per hour Expected training period: approximately 3-4 months Graduation is based on skill and readiness, not simply time spent in training. Once signed off as an independent groomer, earning potential is approximately $300-$500 per working day, plus tips . Full-time groomers typically work approximately 3-4 grooming days per week . What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who already enjoys working with dogs and wants more than just another hourly pet-care job. The training period requires commitment, patience, and hard work. You will be learning a skilled trade, and there will be challenging days. For the right person, it is worth it. If you are already bathing dogs and want to learn how to groom, increase your earning potential, and build a long-term career in the pet industry, we would like to hear from you.
