Kennel Technician Job Description 15-20 hours per week - EVENINGS & WEEKENDS
INCLUDED
Turning Point Dog Training is hiring! We are looking to add a dedicated and highly motivated kennel technician to our team. A Kennel Technician is responsible for supervising and tending to the animals in our care. Kennel Technicians perform numerous animal caretaking tasks, such as taking dogs on walks, feeding, and administering medications. Kennel Techs in this position will also be responsible for taking care of our daycare dogs and communicating with clients during check in and check out times. Kennel Techs should show excellent customer service skills and treat each client or potential client with respect. Most importantly, Kennel Techs should treat each dog as if they were their own.
Kennel Tech Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility in this role is spending a significant amount of time walking and providing exercise for the dogs. Providing food and water according to a set schedule Playing with or supervising dogs in play areas and giving breaks as need Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, facility, equipment, and other items Interacting with clients and checking dogs in & out Maintain accurate records related to dog's physical condition, feedings, and other activities while in our care Administering medications when appropriate Assisting trainers when needed
Expectations:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent teamwork skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Must be available to work evenings and weekends Experience handling dogs of various breeds and temperaments is highly preferred Strong passion for animal care and well-being Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Pay • $15.50 - $16.75 hourly depending on experience and performance
