Job Description

Overview The Dog Wizard Westlake is looking for motivated, reliable, and dog-loving individuals to join our team as Kennel Technicians. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, working directly with dogs in a structured training and daycare environment. This is not a typical "play with puppies all day" job. We are a professional dog training facility focused on structure, safety, and results. We're looking for team members who take pride in their work and want to be part of a high-standard environment. Responsibilities Safely handle and care for dogs of all sizes and temperaments Supervise structured play groups (no free-for-all daycare) Clean and maintain kennels, training rooms, and facility Feed dogs and administer medications as directed Follow safety protocols and dog handling procedures Assist with drop-offs and pick-ups Monitor dog behavior and report any concerns
Requirements:
Must be comfortable working with all breeds (including large and high-energy dogs) Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Willing to follow structure and take direction Able to stand, walk, and work in a physical environment No professional experience required — we will train the right person Skills Experience in dog related settings is preferred. Knowledge of pet grooming techniques is a plus. Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage various breeds and temperaments. Familiarity with kennel operations and animal care best practices. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with animal care. Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and pet owners. Compassionate attitude towards animals with a strong commitment to their welfare.
