Job Summary Join our dynamic pet care team as a Dog Walker and Pet Sitter, where your passion for animals and energetic spirit will shine! In this role, you will provide exceptional care and companionship to a variety of pets, ensuring their safety, happiness, and well-being. Whether walking dogs through scenic routes, offering overnight in-home care, or attending to pets' individual needs, you'll play a vital part in enriching the lives of animals and their owners. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to work outdoors, develop animal handling skills, and make a positive impact every day. Duties Take dogs on engaging walks, ensuring proper pet exercise and outdoor activity tailored to each animal's energy level and health needs Provide pet sitting services including feeding, administering medication if needed, and maintaining daily routines Offer overnight in-home care for pets, ensuring they are comfortable, secure, and well-cared for during your stay Handle animals with gentle restraint techniques and proper animal handling skills to ensure safety for pets and yourself Assist with pet grooming tasks such as brushing or bathing when required to maintain pet hygiene Communicate effectively with pet owners about their pets' behaviors, health status, and any concerns observed during visits Perform animal behavior assessments and implement basic dog training techniques to promote good manners and obedience Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, feeding schedules, exercise routines, and any health issues or incidents Qualifications Prior experience with dog handling, pet sitting, or animal care is highly preferred; veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus Knowledge of dog training methods and animal behavior principles Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions is desirable Strong ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques Excellent client communication skills to build trust with pet owners and provide updates on their pets' well-being Ability to lift heavy objects such as pet supplies or bags of food safely and efficiently Familiarity with veterinary-related tasks such as administering medication or understanding veterinary terminology is advantageous Passionate about animal welfare with a positive attitude and energetic approach to daily tasks Join us in delivering top-tier pet care that combines compassion with professionalism!
