Job Summary Position Summary We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and patient-focused Orthodontic Assistant to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate is confident in a clinical setting, works well with others, has strong attention to detail, and is committed to providing an exceptional patient experience. Key Responsibilities Assist the orthodontist with patient examinations, consultations, and treatment procedures. Prepare patients and treatment rooms for scheduled appointments. Assist with placement and removal of brackets, wires, elastics, appliances, and other orthodontic materials. Take orthodontic photographs, X-rays, scans, impressions, and other diagnostic records as needed. Provide patients and parents with clear instructions regarding orthodontic treatment, oral hygiene, and appliance care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. Follow all OSHA, infection-control, sterilization, and office safety protocols. Sterilize instruments and maintain clean, organized treatment areas. Monitor and restock clinical supplies. Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, parents, and team members. Help create a welcoming and positive patient experience. Work efficiently in a fast-paced orthodontic environment. Assist with additional clinical duties as directed by the orthodontist or lead assistant. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of orthodontic assisting experience required. Strong knowledge of orthodontic terminology, procedures, and appliances. Experience taking dental/orthodontic X-rays and diagnostic records. Knowledge of infection-control and sterilization procedures. Excellent chairside assisting and patient communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Professional, friendly, and positive attitude. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Required certifications and credentials based on applicable state regulations. Interested?
