Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking reliable and passionate Pet Sitter / Dog Walker to join our team. As a Pet Sitter / Dog Walker, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of pets and provide them with the exercise and care they need. This is a great opportunity for individuals who have a passion for working with animals and enjoy spending time outdoors. Availability Position 1: Mon-Fri 10-3pm part time 20-25hrs OR Mon-Fri 7-1pm (see separate position) 20-30hrs It will be a gradual build up- up to this amount of hours.
Responsibilities:
- Travel from client to client within a 15min/10mile radius
- Walk dogs on a regular basis, ensuring they get the exercise they need
- Reinforce basic obedience training during walks
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the dogs in your care
- Clean up after dogs during walks
- Monitor dogs for any signs of distress or illness and report any concerns to the client/company
- Care for cats and other pets as instructed including but not limited to feeding, medication, providing fresh water, scooping litter box, attention and exercise, cleaning up after pets, etc…
- Follow specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding their pet's care
- Maintain accurate records of visits, including time spent and any notable observations via our easy to use client management system
Experience:
- Previous experience working with animals, such as in a kennel, doggie daycare, dog training facility, dog grooming facility, pet sitting/dog walking, animal shelter, veterinary setting or other animal setting is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of pet care and/or dog walking tools training techniques is a plus
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with pet owners
Requirements:
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Must have a genuine love for animals and a desire to provide them with the best care possible
- Physical stamina to walk for extended periods of time and handle dogs of various sizes
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to specific guidelines provided by pet owners
Compensation:
Position is paid per visit Our sitters/walkers average $18- 20+/hr in total compensation with per visit rate + tips + mileage. Visit rates start at 15min visits: $9 20min visits: $10 30min visits: $10.50 45min visits: $12+ 60min visits: $16
