Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and attentive Dog Handler to join our team, bringing energy and passion to the care and management of our canine companions. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being, training, and safety of dogs in various environments. Your proactive approach and love for animals will help create a positive experience for both the dogs and their owners or handlers. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals while developing your skills in animal care and handling. Responsibilities Safely handle and control dogs during training sessions, walks, or other activities, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times Assist with dog socialization, obedience training, and behavioral assessments to promote positive interactions Maintain cleanliness of kennels, exercise areas, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards Monitor dogs' health and behavior, reporting any concerns or abnormalities promptly to supervisors or veterinary staff Support transportation of dogs between different locations or facilities as needed using appropriate safety procedures Follow established protocols for handling different breeds and temperaments to ensure safe interactions Document daily activities, observations, and any incidents accurately in logs or reports Experience Prior experience in animal care, such as pet sitting, grooming salons, or veterinary clinics is preferred Experience with appointment scheduling or managing client interactions enhances your ability to coordinate effectively Certification or hands-on experience in dog training, behavior management, or animal handling is a plus but not required A genuine passion for animals combined with excellent communication skills will help you succeed in this energetic role Join us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of dogs while gaining valuable experience in animal handling.
