Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Dog Handler and play a vital role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and training of our canine companions. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with dogs, applying your animal handling skills to support pet care, training, and veterinary services. As a Dog Handler, you will be instrumental in providing exceptional care and handling for dogs of various breeds and temperaments, contributing to their health and happiness while supporting our mission to promote responsible pet ownership. Duties Safely handle and control dogs during training sessions, veterinary visits, and daily activities using proper restraint techniques Assist with dog training programs, reinforcing commands and behavioral routines under supervision Support veterinary staff with animal restraint, grooming, and basic pet care procedures to ensure smooth clinic operations Maintain a clean and safe environment by cleaning kennels, equipment, and designated handling areas regularly Provide compassionate pet sitting and pet care services for dogs in various settings, ensuring their comfort and safety Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies or large animals when necessary, following proper safety protocols Communicate effectively with clients about pet behavior, care instructions, and training progress to foster positive relationships Requirements Proven experience in dog handling, training or related animal care roles such as veterinary technician or assistant Strong knowledge of animal handling techniques, including restraint and behavior management Experience working with animals in veterinary clinics or kennels is highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of daily duties Excellent customer service skills to engage with pet owners professionally and empathetically Familiarity with pet grooming, pet sitting, and general animal care practices Prior experience with equine or other animal handling is a plus but not required Join us if you're passionate about working with animals and eager to make a positive impact on their lives!
