Antonia's Paw Spa & Retreat is looking for a high energy, enthusiastic, and motivated dog lover to join our team! As a Bather, you will be essential in providing "Best-in-Show" quality care for our grooming clients. Responsibilities Shampooing & conditioning dogs' fur Expressing anal glands Brushing dogs' teeth Cleaning ears & pulling ear hair Drying, straightening, & dematting dogs' fur Nail clipping & filing Skills & Qualifications Prior dog handling experience required Ability to lift 30lbs+, kneel/crouch, stand for extended periods of time, and handle dogs of varying sizes A strong work ethic and good attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers & management Ability to work as a team Familiarity with/knowledge of basic animal care (proper hygiene, behavior, common health issues, etc) is a plus Ability to follow directions Ability to remain calm in potentially stressful situations Other Information Applicants must be 18+ years old Applicants must be available Monday - Saturday (as early as 7:30am and as late as 7pm) Applicant must be dependable and able to work well with others Applicants must also have reliable transportation, references, and be able to pass a drug test Hours can range from full time to part time Opportunities for advancement available This is a fast paced, high energy position that requires a lot of standing, bending, lifting (we team lift any dog over 40+lbs), and repetitive motion of hands & arms Holidays and big school breaks off (opportunity to still get your hours if you sign up for peak boarding shifts) All bathers will be cross trained to work with our Boarding and Daycare dogs as well.
