Job Description
The ideal Dog Trainer is an individual with a strong work ethic who is passionate about helping clients train their pets. This individual is punctual, dependable, trustworthy, and a good communicator who understands hard work, how to deliver and provide top customer service to our clients and their dogs. The Trainer's responsibilities include conducting training sessions with dogs and their owners and their families, both in the home, as well as group classes in a park setting. To be successful in this role, you should not only love dogs, but you should enjoy working with and coaching people, exhibit excellent customer service orientation, be well-organized, a good communicator, have great time management skills and be able to act without guidance. The role will begin as an apprentice, potentially part-time (likely 12-24 hours per week) working under the leadership of our lead trainer until you are ready to take on your own clients.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma (or equivalent)
- Must have valid driver's license and vehicle available for use
- One year of customer service and/or sales experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
NO DOG TRAINING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED!
Responsibilities:
- Ensure highest level of customer service and support
- Ensure Dog Training Elite training standards and values are met at all times
- Regular check-ins with our training team and company leadership
- Update company's CRM daily (new leads, notes from training sessions)
- Group class scheduling and oversight
- Assist with in-person marketing events
- Event set up and break down coordination
- Ensure in-home training safety protocols are followed and exceeded daily
- Review calendar daily for accuracy
- Request client reviews
- Additional duties assigned
Work Hours:
- Hours are flexible and will vary according to your assignments.
- Typical workdays are Monday through Saturday.
- You should not expect to work over 40 hours per week.

- Lead trainer, Franchise owner and/or
