Our In-Home training program focuses on training for family pets ranging from basic obedience for puppies to dogs with behavioral issues. Candidates must be willing to work with canines of all temperaments which can include aggression and severe behavioral issues/separation anxiety. Heart of Texas Dog Training uses a results-based approach to dog training which will require candidates to attend a training course through Canine Trade Group. We are looking for a committed, passionate and hardworking professional who would like to join us as a professional dog trainer in the Houston area. Responsibilities for Dog Trainer Execute Heart of Texas Dog Training system Evaluate dogs for behavioral issues Provide in-home training and consultations Be willing to work in public settings during training sessions as well as in home. Teach clients how to train with their dogs using the Heart of Texas Dog training system Understand basic dog behavior Teach clients about dog behavior Provide Lunch and Learn sessions to local veterinary clinics Qualifications for Dog Trainer High School diploma or GED equivalent Knowledge of dog basic commands Knowledge of different dog breeds History of dog ownership Ability to communicate effectively with clients Ability to create a plan of action for owners Ability to work well with dogs Ability to attend a professional dog training course is required.
