Job Description

Kennel Tech needed for dog training and boarding at our climate controlled facility. Must be flexible and able to work holidays, weekends, and Monday through Friday, 4 to 8 hour shifts. Position can advance to dog training in addition to kennel tech duties.
Duties:
  • Provide daily care and attention to dogs in the kennel facility
  • Feed, water, and administer medication to animals as directed
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment for animals
  • Monitor the behavior and health of animals, reporting any concerns or changes
  • Exercise to ensure their physical and mental well-being
  • Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing
  • Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications administered, and any observed changes in behavior or health
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of animal care practices and procedures is beneficial
  • Experience working with animals in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter or rescue organization
  • Ability to handle dogs of various sizes, up to very large dogs, and temperaments safely
  • Familiarity with kennel operations and pet care routines
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50+ pounds) such as bags of food or crates.
