We're opening our second Richmond-area studio at 9790 Midlothian Turnpike, and we're looking for dog trainers to help build the team there from day one. About Zoom Room At Zoom Room, our motto is "We don't train dogs. We train the people that love them." We are seeking passionate dog lovers to join our growing team. We provide a safe indoor space for adult dogs and puppies to socialize and receive training with their families. Using only positive training methods, we help people deepen the bonds of communication with their pups through obedience, agility, and enrichment classes. We regularly give back to local rescues through direct donations, free training, and fundraiser events we host ourselves, such as Doggy Disco nights (yes, we have a disco ball!) and Doggy Bowling. It's a wonderful environment for dog lovers - our clients and our staff - with free coffee, sodas, great music, and a beautifully strong community. General Job Description We are hiring dog-loving individuals to join our new Midlothian studio as a Dog Trainer! This position includes running group classes and private training sessions, assisting clients in scheduling their classes, helping customers select products to meet their training and enrichment needs, overseeing group playgroups, and answering clients' questions.
Please note:
this is a sales role. Along with training, our trainers are the ones who help clients choose the right classes, training packages, and products for their dogs, and they are expected to meet sales goals. If you enjoy recommending the right fit and closing the sale, you'll do well here, and our bonus and commission opportunities reward it.
General duties include:
Leading group and private dog training classes Selling class packages, training programs, and retail products Customer service Supervising social events and playgroups Opening and closing the studio, including keeping it sparkling clean And plenty of head scratches and belly rubs!
Job requirements include:
Availability for both weekdays and weekends, including opening and closing shifts Reliable transportation Comfort with sales conversations and working toward sales goals A desire to work with dogs and learn about training and dog behavior The ideal candidate will: Love dogs, but also enjoy working with people Have customer service or sales experience Be approachable and open to constructive feedback and coaching Have excellent verbal and written communication skills Be hardworking, proactive, and dependable Be a team player Benefits include: Paid PTO (After 90 days) 401K Match (After 90 days) On-the-job training Opportunities for pay raises Store discount
Hours and Compensation:
Full-time position: 35-40 hours per week $17-$19 per hour, plus bonus and commission opportunities The schedule will include weekdays and weekends, with a mix of opening shifts (starting at 10:15am) and closing shifts (until 9pm on weekdays)
