Exceptional Equestrians, a nonprofit providing equine-assisted therapies, is seeking a part-time Equine Assistant to support our Equine Manager and barn operations. This role is ideal for a dependable, hands-on individual with strong horsemanship skills and a commitment to high standards of care and safety. Schedule & Compensation- Part-time (hours vary)
- Competitive wages and benefits based on average weekly hours Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily horse care, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring health
- Assist with medical care and support farrier and veterinary appointments
- Prepare horses for therapy sessions
- Support therapy sessions as a horse leader or sidewalker, as needed
- Assist in training and supervising volunteer horse leaders
- Participate in conditioning and training of horses (groundwork, lunging, riding)
- Perform basic barn and facility maintenance Qualifications
- Prior experience working with horses required
- Proficiency in horse care, groundwork, and riding
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
