Job Description
We are looking to add dependable, hard working dog lovers to our team! No experience necessary, we are searching for the right candidate who has a true passion to work with dogs. On-going training about common dog behaviors and how to handle a group setting is provided. -We are a 365 day a year business, we are looking for people who are open to working at least one weekend shift a week and our limited holiday hours. -The starting pay is $12/hr We offer flexible scheduling and can work around college schedules. Full and Part-Time positions are available! What we're looking for in our handlers:
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- A team-player, able to speak and work well with others, and communicate frequently with other co-workers and managers. Communication is KEY!
- Someone who loves each and every dog in our care as their own, and provide the best care at all times.
- Ability to be on your feet for up to 8 hours
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop repeatedly during shift
- High level of attentiveness
- Responsible, reliable and on time for all shifts, the dogs count on you!
- Maintain a clean, safe, and FUN work environment and facility.
What the job entails:
CLEANING
Sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing of crates/run areas. Keeping the play areas clean and "mess" free. Washing the play areas and equipment. Able to learn and use commercial equipment, clean after use, and put away properly.DOG HANDLING
Monitoring the dogs social time in the play areas! Able to learn the many names and behaviors, to handle all the dogs accordingly. Use of basic obedience commands to control group. Watch for overly excited, aggressive, and inappropriate behavior and correct these actions. Communication with managers about any inappropriate behavior noticed while in group. Able to watch the dogs while also cleaning up after them.Requirements:
