We are looking for an active, friendly and hard-working dog lover to join our growing team as a Shift Lead. Applicants must have at least 6 months of dog play group supervision (dog handling) experience in a professional setting (daycare, kennel, shelter) and at least 1 year of customer service experience. Only candidates with this professional work experience will be considered for this position. Previous leadership experience is preferred. This is a full-time Shift Lead position (typically 33-40 hours per week). Shift Lead positions require some daytime, evening, holiday and weekend availability. Applicants with flexible availability are preferred. The average employee is scheduled for 2-3 evening shifts per week and 2-3 weekend shifts per month in addition to daytime weekday shifts. Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of hiring. No applicants under 18 years of age will be considered.
Compensation:
Starting pay is based on experience, applicants with more professional experience in dog handling/animal care and leadership may start at the higher starting pay range. Starts at $14.00-$16.00/hr depending on experience. Shift Pay Premiums (extra hourly pay) are paid for evenings, weekends, and trainer shifts. Time and a half pay is paid for Holidays. Overtime time and a half pay for over 40 hours worked in a single calendar week (Sunday-Saturday). Employees that successfully complete an approximate 3 month training and probationary period typically earn a $0.25 to $0.50/hr increase at that time. After the training period has been completed, Shift Leads are eligible for Paid Time Off. Additional merit-based pay increases are provided as employees become more experienced and employees are reviewed every 6 months. New team members will work alongside our veteran crew while providing extraordinary service and care for our human and canine customers and staff. Shift Leads perform a variety of administrative tasks, supervise dog play groups, provide obedience and manners training, keep the facility clean, and ensure operations run smoothly. We will train new employees in specific areas of their duties but will give preference to candidates with previous transferable experience.

Have at least 6 months of professional dog play group supervision (Dog Handling) experience in a daycare, kennel or shelter environment Have at least 1 year of customer service experience Be passionate about providing exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication Demonstrate excellent attendance, professionalism, and responsibility management Have experience in basic computer operations and voice call skills Be able to think on their feet, adapt to changes and overcome challenges Accurately and consistently follow verbal and written directions and procedures Enjoy interacting with dogs of all breeds and sizes Have a curiosity or experience working with dogs and reading basic dog body language Be comfortable working with groups of 10-20 dogs at a time Consistently care for all dogs with compassion while prioritizing health and safety Be okay with cleaning up after dog messes routinely throughout the day and evening Be excited to learn and perform positive, reward based training methods Have stamina to keep up in a fast paced environment Plan for working outdoors in all kinds of weather year round Be able to stand/walk for long periods of time Be able to walk quickly and run when necessary Be able to lift up to 50 lbs, physically manage large breed dogs, bend, crouch, climb stairs and crawl on a regular basis Be able to constantly intake and quickly process visual and auditory information Be capable of regular cleaning activities: mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing and more Be 18 years of age or older with a completed HS diploma or equivalent Experience with identifying potential health and/or behavioral issues in dogs and canine first aid skills is a plus
