2:00 PM - 10:00 PM Part-Time Opportunities Available "Must be available 2-10 PM and comfortable working independently" Lake Country K9 to 5 is looking for reliable, responsible, and motivated Dog Handlers to join our growing team! We are a small-group, enrichment-focused dog daycare and boarding facility. We prioritize safety, quality care, and the individual needs of every dog in our care. Our Daycare groups are intentionally kept small, with handlers supervising no more than 5 dogs at a time . This is a great opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with dogs and wants a hands-on position in a professional dog care environment. What You'll Do Your afternoon/evening shift will focus on caring for our Daycare and Boarding dogs and preparing the facility for the following day. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supervise a group of Daycare dogs, with groups of up to 5 large-breed dogs at a time Monitor dogs closely for safety, appropriate play, stress, and behavior Provide a calm, safe, and positive environment for all dogs Handle Daycare customer checkouts and provide friendly, professional customer service Check Boarding dogs in and out of the facility when needed Use our pet-care software to accurately check dogs in and out Feed Boarding dogs their evening meals according to their individual instructions Provide individual 1-on-1 potty breaks, playtime, and enrichment for Boarding dogs Clean and maintain open Boarding kennels Pick up dog waste throughout the facility and outdoor areas Clean and sanitize indoor playrooms after Daycare dogs leave for the evening Follow feeding, medication, handling, cleaning, and safety instructions Communicate with management regarding any concerns, injuries, illnesses, behavioral issues, or unusual observations Perform other dog-care and facility duties as needed What We're Looking For The most important qualities we're looking for are reliability, responsibility, and a willingness to work.

Is dependable and consistently arrives on time Is a self-starter who doesn't need to be constantly told what needs to be done Is comfortable working independently Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in doing things correctly Is comfortable handling large dogs Can remain calm and confident in a busy dog-care environment Has good attention to detail Is comfortable interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner Can follow written and verbal instructions Is willing to clean, sanitize, and perform the less glamorous parts of working in a dog-care facility Understands that dog care involves physical work, cleaning, lifting, bending, walking, and being on your feet for much of the shift Is willing to learn our handling procedures, safety protocols, and software Previous Experience Previous professional experience working with dogs is preferred but not necessarily required for the right candidate. Experience in any of the following is a plus: Dog daycare Boarding kennels Veterinary clinics Dog training Grooming Animal shelters/rescues Pet care Veterinary technician or assistant work We are willing to train the right person who has the right attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn. This Position Is NOT Just "Playing With Dogs" Working in dog daycare and boarding is rewarding, but it is also a job that requires responsibility. Our handlers are responsible for maintaining a safe environment, supervising dogs carefully, communicating with clients, cleaning kennels and playrooms, feeding boarding dogs, providing individual enrichment, and making sure the facility is ready for the next day. Schedule This position averages approximately 20 hours per week and follows a predictable rotating schedule of Monday-Wednesday one week and Thursday-Friday the following week. Occasional weekend/holiday boarding coverage may be available or required depending on operational needs. Additional weekend/holiday availability may be required depending on boarding schedules.
