Job Description
The SLO Beauty College, serving the central coast community for 25 years,is seeking a licensed Cosmetology Instructor who has a positive attitude, is passionate about our industry, and is a strong communicator with excellent technical skills and a proven success in salons.
Job Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Punctuality and Attendance (an instructor must be an example for the students)
- Prepare lesson plans according to State and Federal guidelines
- Perform and instruct all practical procedures according to State and Federal guidelines
- Monitor /record student progress in order to assure students understand the lessons
- Monitor student attendance (attendance is a substantial portion of the student's grade)
- Maintain current/accurate student records (attendance, exams, progress reports…)
- Stay informed of current industry standards and changes in fashion
- Maintain a safe and organized lab
- Attend quarterly faculty meetings
- Achieve twelve (12) hours of continuing education annually, including a minimum of four (4) hours in teaching methodology
- Assessing student progress and maintaining accurate records
- Communicating frequently with students and colleagues
- Working hands-on with students in a variety of courses and application
- Is responsible to report all issues regarding school operations to the school manager.
