A Barber, Hair Stylist, or Cosmetologist provides haircuts, shampoos, hair styling and other beauty services to customers. Works in a salon business or independent shops, including barber shops that serve primarily male customers. May sell hair or skin products.
Goldylost Hair is a premium human-hair wig and topper boutique with stores in Doral, Miami and Sydney, Australia. Founded in 2020 by Clementine — who lived through her own hair-loss journey — we help women feel like themselves again with hair that quietly becomes part of them. Most of our clients are navigating hair loss (alopecia, chemotherapy, postpartum, thinning), and how we make them feel in our chair matters as much as the piece they walk out with.
THE ROLE
We're hiring a hairdresser to join our small Doral team. You'll spend your time working directly with clients on our boutique floor, helping them choose the right piece, cutting and styling their hair, and supporting the day-to-day running of the shop. This is not a chair-rental setup. You're part of the Goldylost family, and your work touches everything that happens here.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Client work (the core of the job): See clients one-on-one for consultations, help them choose the right wig or topper, and guide them through color, fit, and lifestyle fit. Cut and style human-hair wigs and toppers on request — face-framing layers, side-swept fringes, bangs, tapers, and everything in between. Perform colour work on wigs when needed (toning, root work, dark roots, highlights, low-lights, subtle blends). Be the calm, capable presence for someone who may be walking into a wig shop for the first time in her life.
Shop and admin support:
Organise outgoing shipments to online clients (labels, packaging, DHL/FedEx handoff). Reply to client emails, take phone calls, and respond to DMs on our socials when needed. Keep the salon tidy and photo-ready — stock displays, mirrors, tools, and workstations. Help with basic booking coordination and confirming client appointments. Pop-up events (twice a year): Travel with the team for one-to-two-day pop-up events (past locations: Dallas, Atlanta, NAAF conference in Orlando). Full travel and lodging covered. Set up the pop-up space, run consultations on the day, cut and style on-site, break down the space at end-of-day. Content and community (a bit of everything): Help capture behind-the-scenes content on your shift — short videos, before-and-afters, styling clips for Instagram and TikTok. Contribute to our Goldylost Academy library — short, on-camera teaching moments about wig care, styling, and everyday tips.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must-haves:
Confident cutting skills — you can walk into any client appointment and comfortably cut bangs, face-framing layers, side-swept fringes, and long-layer work without hesitation. Comfortable styling all hair textures — blow-dry finish, curls, sleek looks, updos for special occasions. Real empathy for clients navigating hair loss. This is not optional. If you're a technically strong hairdresser but tend to lead with your own opinions or treat clients as chairs to fill, this isn't the job for you. Available for a Saturday shift every week you work. Willing to travel with the team for pop-up events four times a year (typically Fri-Sun trips). Trip expenses are all covered by the company. Comfortable being on-camera occasionally for our social content — nothing scripted, just being yourself while you work. Nice to have (not required): Prior experience working with wigs or hairpieces. If you have it, great. If you don't, your cutting and styling foundation is what matters most. Prior experience with clients in medical hair-loss contexts (oncology, alopecia support groups). Bilingual English/Spanish — a strong asset for our Doral client base. Comfort with basic admin tools (email, phone, Shopify or similar POS). Be opened to learn
