Responsibilities Consult with clients to understand their hair goals and recommend suitable loc styling techniques Create, maintain, and tighten various types of locs using techniques such as interlocking, palm rolling, or retwisting Perform hair care services including cleansing, conditioning, and moisturizing locs to promote scalp health Maintain strict sanitation protocols using proper tools and sterilization methods for all equipment and workstations Manage appointments efficiently using salon software like MINDBODY or similar platforms Provide excellent customer service by engaging with clients professionally, addressing concerns, and upselling retail products such as hair care or styling accessories Educate clients on proper loc maintenance routines and recommend retail products to support their hair health Assist with front desk duties including scheduling, check-in/out procedures, and retail sales management Mentor junior team members on loc techniques, sanitation practices, and customer service standards Experience Proven experience working as a Loctitian or in the broader beauty industry with a focus on loc styling or barbering Strong knowledge of hair care principles including scalp health, sanitation practices, and hair coloring techniques Familiarity with salon management software such as MINDBODY or equivalent systems Hands-on experience with hair extensions. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients and team members in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated skills in retail sales, upselling products, and retail math to enhance client experience and salon revenue Certification in Cosmetology or Barbering is preferred but not required; additional training in advanced styling techniques is preferred Position & Compensation This is a commission-based opportunity designed for motivated, client-focused professionals ; earnings are based on walk-in client traffic and completed services/sales.
