Our Salon Assistant/Apprentice position is designed to be more than a traditional assisting role. At Theory, we believe in pouring into the next generation of stylists through hands-on experience, mentorship, and continuous education. You'll work alongside experienced stylists, learn in a busy salon environment, and develop the technical, professional, and client-service skills needed for a successful career behind the chair. We also offer an apprenticeship program for individuals looking for an alternative path toward becoming a licensed cosmetologist. Education + Growth Education is a huge part of the culture at Theory. Our team participates in weekly training and education classes designed to continually strengthen technical skills, product knowledge, consultation, client experience, and confidence behind the chair. Through our affiliation with L'Oréal Professionnel, our team also has access to continued professional education and opportunities connected to the L'Oréal Professionnel Academies and training labs in New York and Los Angeles. What You'll Do Assist stylists throughout the client experience, including preparing clients and supporting services. Learn alongside experienced stylists through observation and hands-on training. Maintain a clean, organized, elevated salon environment. Assist with shampooing, treatments, color preparation and other services as permitted by licensing/apprenticeship requirements. Help manage the flow of appointments and client needs throughout the day. Deliver exceptional hospitality and customer service. Learn about and confidently recommend professional haircare products. Participate in Theory's ongoing education and weekly training. Continue developing your knowledge of hair color, cutting, styling, treatments, product knowledge and current industry trends.
