Job Description

Hiawatha Care Center is actively hiring a Hair Stylist to provide professional hair care services that help residents look and feel their best. As a Hair Stylist, you will deliver compassionate, resident-centered cosmetology services in a long-term care setting while building meaningful relationships with residents, families, and staff. If you are a licensed Cosmetologist or Hair Stylist who enjoys working with older adults, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact.
What We Offer Compensation :
$15 - $60 per hour Contracted, service-based position with flexible earning potential Unlimited use of the facility's beauty salon at no rental cost Opportunity to build a consistent client base within our resident community Schedule and Employment Type Part-Time | Flexible Schedule Minimum commitment of one full day per week , with the opportunity for additional days as needed Key Responsibilities Provide professional hair care services as a Hair Stylist, including haircuts and styling for men and women Perform shampooing, styling, blow drying, and basic grooming services Perform iron sets and roller sets based on resident preferences Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary salon environment Clean and disinfect cosmetology tools and equipment in accordance with sanitation standards Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff Deliver services with patience, kindness, dignity, and respect while accommodating each resident's individual needs Maintain accurate records of services provided and collect payment in accordance with facility procedures, if applicable Qualifications Current and valid Iowa Cosmetology License required Experience performing iron sets and roller sets Experience working with seniors or in a long-term care setting preferred, but not required Strong interpersonal and communication skills Compassionate, patient, and resident-focused approach to care Reliable transportation and dependable attendance If you are a licensed Hair Stylist or Cosmetologist who is passionate about helping seniors look and feel their best, apply today to join the Hiawatha Care Center team!
