Job Summary MVP Barber Shop is looking for an experienced Lead Barber to join our team. We're looking for a skilled barber who takes pride in traditional barbering, modern men's haircuts, and high-quality grooming. This position is about more than simply cutting hair. Our barbers provide a complete men's grooming experience — from classic cuts and skin fades to beard trims, straight-razor lineups, hot towels, shampoos, and styling. The ideal candidate is confident behind the chair, comfortable working with a wide range of men and boys, and takes pride in delivering consistent, clean, professional results. As a Lead Barber, you'll also help set the standard for the shop, support other barbers, and contribute to a professional, welcoming atmosphere. Responsibilities Perform professional barbering services including: Classic men's haircuts Skin fades and bald fades Tapers and blowout tapers Burst fades Scissor cuts Kids' haircuts Beard trims and shaping Straight-razor neck and beard lineups Hot towel services Shampoo and scalp services Hair styling and finishing Consult with clients to determine the appropriate haircut, beard style, and overall grooming look. Develop strong relationships with clients and provide consistent, personalized service. Educate clients on proper hair and beard care and recommend appropriate men's grooming products. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional station throughout the workday. Follow all state and local sanitation requirements for barbering tools, equipment, and workstations. Maintain a professional appearance and represent the MVP Barber Shop brand positively. Help maintain a welcoming environment for men, young men, and kids. Assist with training and mentoring other barbers by sharing cutting techniques, grooming knowledge, and best practices. Help establish and maintain MVP's standards for haircut quality, customer service, cleanliness, and professionalism. Assist management with daily shop operations when needed. Help maintain inventory of barbering supplies and men's grooming products. Promote retail products when appropriate and educate clients on products that fit their hair or beard needs. Help maximize the client experience while maintaining efficient appointment times and a productive schedule. Support the growth and reputation of MVP Barber Shop within the local community. Qualifications & Skills Previous professional barbering experience preferred. Strong knowledge of men's haircutting and barbering techniques. Confident with fades, tapers, clipper work, scissor work, and classic men's cuts. Comfortable performing beard trims and straight-razor detailing. Strong understanding of men's hair types, textures, and growth patterns. Knowledge of men's grooming and styling products. Excellent attention to detail and pride in the finished haircut. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality. Ability to work with a wide range of clients, from young children to adults and seniors. Reliable, professional, and comfortable working independently. Current barber license or ability to legally perform barbering services in Indiana.
