Instruction Description Kirtland Community College is accepting applications for Part-Time Instructor to teach Cosmetology. Applicants must be available for face-to-face instruction during either daytime or evening hours. Duties The individual in this position must be able to: Communicate effectively with students, college personnel, and outside agencies utilizing both interpersonal and technical methodologies. Prepare for and instruct assigned courses through the use of appropriate learning experiences and materials which provide the opportunity to meet overall course objectives and program goals. To support student learning by meeting college requirements in assessing student learning. Establish and maintain a professional environment conducive to studentlearning. Evaluate student progress through day-to-day evaluation, written examinations, and overall observation. Provide students with feedback on progress on a timely basis. Actively support student success through guidance, advising, and assisting individual students as needed. Participate in professional activities including, but not limited to, curriculum planning, examination development, textbook selection, program evaluation/revision, and other professional planning activities. Participate in Student End of Course Evaluation process. Submission of grades according to college timelines. Attend meetings as specified by contract. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Three years' experience in a licensed salon. Active Cosmetology Instructor license. (Scholarship to obtain license may be available)
Preferred Qualifications:
AAS or working towards an AAS
