Job Description
The Custom Wig Shoppe is looking for a licensed cosmetologist / hair stylist to join our small specialty wig shop. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys working closely with customers, is confident with natural hair services and coloring, and is interested in learning or expanding their skills with wigs and toppers. Main responsibilities Cut, trim, shampoo, and style customers' natural hair when needed as part of wig and topper services Cut, trim, thin, style, fit, and adjust wigs Work with wigs and toppers to help customers achieve a natural look Color human-hair wigs and toppers when appropriate Help customers choose and try on wigs and toppers Work patiently with customers who may need extra time to make decisions Remain calm and professional with customers who may be difficult or dissatisfied Keep work areas and tools clean and properly sanitized Work as part of a small team and help where needed Required Current Missouri cosmetology license Strong hair-cutting and styling skills Comfortable with hair coloring Comfortable working with a variety of natural hair types, including fine and thinning hair Friendly, patient, professional customer service Able to work independently Dependable and team-oriented Preferred Strong hair-coloring experience Wig or topper experience Human-hair wig coloring experience Wig cutting, thinning, or styling experience Wig experience is preferred but not required. A strong cosmetologist who is willing to learn our wig-specific techniques will be considered.
