Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Technical Grooming Services:

Cut, trim, fade, taper, and style hair using clippers, scissors, trimmers, and straight razors. Perform classic hot towel straight-razor shaves, beard shaping, and mustache trims.[1, 2, 3]

Client Consultation:

Greet clients and analyze their hair condition, scalp health, and facial features to recommend styles or treatments. Discuss desired hairstyles to align on client expectations before cutting.[1, 2]

Sanitation & Safety:

Sterilize all instruments (combs, scissors, razors, clippers) in liquid disinfectant or sterilizers between every client. Maintain a tidy and organized personal workstation. [1, 2]

Shop Upkeep:

Sweep up trimmed hair immediately after each cut, sanitize the barber chair, clean mirrors, and assist with general shop maintenance (such as laundry for towels and emptying trash). [1, 2]

Client Retention & Sales:

Process client payments using point-of-sale (POS) systems, manage appointment schedules, and encourage clients to rebook. Recommend and sell retail grooming products like pomades, beard oils, and tonics.
