Job Description

Under limited supervision instructs cosmetology students in beginners class,theory class, senior class,or special classes as assigned, supervising students closely in the classroom and clinic settings. Demonstrates good customer relations and consultation to students. Supervises good housekeeping and students' personal appearance The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification . It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. Maintains all requisite certifications required of the position. Keeps abreast of newest cosmetology trends and practices. Protect and promote the school image as an educational institution, promote instructor-student relations , promote student­ clinic patron relations, and promote instructor-clinic patron relations. Receives, reviews, processes, files and/or submits a variety of documents and reports such as attendance report, grade sheets, evaluation forms, teaching schedule, professional development forms, various other forms as related to classes assigned, Operates, utilizes, and maintains various types of office and other equipment including computers , copier, audio-visual equipment, and general supplies. Supervises testing, grades tests and records score. Suggests revisions in educational programs. Reports needs for operating supplies and instructional materials to School Manager. Supervises students closely in classroom and clinic settings. Demonstrates good customer relations and consultation to students . Supervises good housekeeping and students' personal appearance. Group counselor for assigned group; first-line individual counselor, referring difficult problems to School Manager. Encourages required project activities to students. Answers phone, referring calls to appropriate destination if necessary. Responds to phone calls in School Manager's absence, providing information and answering inquiries as appropriate. Performs other duties as required.

Must hold valid NC Cosmetic Board Cosmetologist license with at least three years of cosmetology experience. Classroom experience would be a plus.
