This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults by helping our residents feel comfortable, confident, and cared for. Our ideal candidate understands that working within a memory care community requires more than excellent cosmetology skills. Many of our residents are living with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia and may require additional patience, reassurance, flexibility, and a gentle approach during services. We are looking for someone who can create a calm, welcoming salon experience while treating every resident with dignity, kindness, and respect. Services may include haircuts, styling, shampooing, blowouts, coloring, perms, and other appropriate cosmetology services based on resident needs and preferences. The stylist should be comfortable adapting services and communication techniques to meet the individual abilities and comfort levels of our residents. Requirements Current and valid cosmetology license Current professional liability insurance Experience working with seniors or individuals living with dementia is preferred Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently within a memory care environment Commitment to maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and welcoming salon space Dependability and professionalism when working with residents, families, and community staff
