Salon Assistant & Front Desk Coordinator (Cosmetology Students Welcome)

Salon Assistant & Front Desk Coordinator Space Salon | Astoria, NY Space Salon is looking for a reliable, organized, and upbeat Salon Assistant & Front Desk Coordinator to join our team. This role combines front desk responsibilities, salon support, client care, inventory management, and daily salon operations. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes initiative, and thrives in a fast-paced salon environment.

Responsibilities:

Greet clients and provide an exceptional guest experience - offer and make refreshments Answer phones, texts, emails, social media requests and schedule appointments Check clients in and out and process payments correctly Make sales of retail products and backbar recommendations Shampoo clients and assist stylists as needed Maintain salon cleanliness, housekeeping, laundry, and stock/retail organization Restock supplies and assist with inventory management Support daily salon operations and administrative tasks

Qualifications:

Strong customer service and communication skills Organized, dependable, detail oriented, tidy, and able to multitask Comfortable using computers and scheduling software (experience with Phorest and Vish a plus) Previous salon, retail, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred (sales experience a plus) Cosmetology license or beauty school enrollment preferred but not required Makeup artistry experience is a plus! Knowledge of Davines is a plus!
